Elemental Characters: Bringing Water To Life
For Pixar's "Elemental," we strived to create water characters that felt non-human and of water, yet still maintained readability and charm. Design choices and new technical approaches for characters at Pixar helped achieve this balance.

We present our FX retiming workflow developed on Blue Sky Studios' latest feature, Spies in Disguise. Our solution is shown to be robust and efficient for a variety of elements including particles, rigid bodies, volumetrics, and fluids.

Creating Abstract Motion Sculptures Through Simulation
The methods described in this thesis present a robust, simulation-driven, and artist friendly process for manipulating animated point data into controllable structures inspired by the artist of the late 19th-century and early 20th-century.
